Telefónica Tech and IBM have introduced TEMIS, an intelligent system designed to facilitate the work of lawyers in the State Attorney General's Office, the body responsible for providing legal assistance to public institutions in Spain. Thanks to the collaboration between Telefónica Tech and IBM, TEMIS is integrated into the digital services catalog of the State Attorney General's Office, allowing lawyers to manage large volumes of legal documentation and optimize the time spent on analysis, focusing on higher value-added tasks. TEMIS stands out for its ability to identify prior claims and similar cases, analyzing both relevant similarities and differences to support legal decisions. The solution uses IBM's cloud technology and the artificial intelligence capabilities of watsonx to organize and search for information in legal documentation. The development of TEMIS involved creating advanced natural language processing models and configuring virtual agents capable of understanding the legal context and providing precise and contextualized results. Additionally, the platform is designed to evolve and adapt to new data sets and the changing needs of the State Attorney's Office. David Vilas, a representative of the State Attorney's Office, emphasizes that TEMIS represents a key advancement in the digital transformation of the agency, improving agility and accuracy in providing legal services to the State. Vilas highlights that technology should serve the public interest and that the integration of artificial intelligence can be achieved while maintaining rigor, security, and professional oversight. Jacobo Garnacho, head of Data&AI Sales at IBM, notes that the success of TEMIS lies in its adaptation to the working methods of lawyers, facilitating access to and organization of legal knowledge so that lawyers can focus on analysis and decision-making. Almudena Bonet, product manager for artificial intelligence at Telefónica Tech, emphasizes that the integration of TEMIS into the systems of the State Attorney General's Office brings innovation and efficiency, freeing lawyers from repetitive tasks and reducing the time for analyzing claims and other operational processes. Bonet adds that generative artificial intelligence is transforming public administration by automating processes and improving competitiveness. Source: silicon.es
