Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and AMD have announced a strategic alliance to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in businesses, facilitating the transition from pilot projects to large-scale implementations. AMD, with a market capitalization of $361 billion and over 90% growth in its stock value over the past year, aims to solidify its position in the AI boom.
The collaboration will focus on the joint development of AI and generative AI solutions tailored to various sectors, combining TCS's industry expertise with AMD's high-performance computing technology. Both companies will invest in training and certification programs to enhance knowledge of AMD's hardware and software. According to InvestingPro, AMD's revenue increased by 32% in the last twelve months, reaching $32 billion.
Among the goals of the alliance is the creation of generative AI frameworks for industries such as life sciences (drug discovery), manufacturing (quality engineering), and financial services (risk management).
Lisa Su, President and CEO of AMD, emphasized that "the acceleration of AI requires a new scale of computing and deep collaboration in the industry." Meanwhile, K. Krithivasan, CEO of TCS, noted that this agreement represents "a key advancement for scaling AI in enterprises" and reinforces TCS's goal of leading AI-driven technology services globally.
The alliance will leverage AMD's Ryzen CPUs for digital transformation solutions in the workplace, as well as EPYC CPUs, Instinct GPUs, and AI accelerators to modernize hybrid cloud infrastructures. Additionally, AMD's integrated computing solutions, such as adaptive System on Chips and FPGAs, will be used to drive innovation at the edge.
TCS, with consolidated revenues exceeding $30 billion in the last fiscal year and a workforce of 590,000 employees in 55 countries, thus strengthens its commitment to AI. AMD, for its part, continues to expand its offerings in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.
