Tencent develops QClaw, a tool to facilitate the use of open-source AI agents
Tencent Holdings (HK:0700), one of China's tech leaders, is working on a new solution to simplify the use of open-source artificial intelligence agents, according to Sina Tech on Monday.
The company is testing QClaw, an application that acts as a one-click launcher for the AI agent OpenClaw, also known as "Langostita" due to its distinctive red lobster icon. With QClaw, users will be able to easily and quickly install and run OpenClaw on their local computers, eliminating the need for complex setups.
OpenClaw has recently gained notoriety for its ability to perform automated tasks through natural language instructions, such as organizing files, managing emails, and autonomously controlling certain device functions.
According to Sina Tech, QClaw does not represent a new framework of agents developed from scratch by Tencent, but rather an optimized interface that facilitates the implementation and connection of OpenClaw for users without technical experience.
Internal tests reveal that the main function of QClaw is to allow the local installation of OpenClaw with a single click, streamlining the process on personal computers. Additionally, the tool is compatible with various AI models, including Chinese options like Kimi and MiniMax, as well as user-defined custom models.
Currently, QClaw is in internal testing and may be available soon, according to the Sina Tech report.
