Google has taken a historic step by integrating Gemini, its advanced artificial intelligence, directly into Chrome. This officially announced update marks a turning point in the browsing experience, incorporating a set of features that promise to transform the way we interact with the web. Starting this month, users in the United States on Mac and Windows will be able to access Gemini in Chrome at no additional cost. The integration brings smart tools capable of reading open tabs, checking browsing history, and interacting with services like YouTube, Maps, Calendar, and Google Workspace, all from within the browser. But Google goes beyond automatic summaries or recovering forgotten pages. According to Charmaine D'Silva, Chrome's product management director, the company is developing features that will allow Gemini to perform everyday tasks for users: from grocery shopping based on an email to rescheduling deliveries, making restaurant reservations, or booking appointments. To ensure safety, Google will implement additional controls on high-risk or irreversible actions. Although there is no exact date yet, the company assures that these features will arrive in the coming months. In the desktop version, Gemini will be able to manage multiple tabs, compare prices, and summarize information scattered across different websites, in addition to recovering pages from history. On Android, where Gemini was already present, the new feature is that it will now be able to analyze the full context of a page, not just what is visible on the screen. For iPhone users, the integration will be coming soon through the Chrome app. These innovations represent a radical change in the use of Chrome, enhancing the browser with AI to offer a more efficient and personalized experience. The update will first roll out in the United States before reaching the rest of the world. Soon, Google's artificial intelligence will be accessible to all Chrome users, opening the door to a new era of intelligent browsing.
