Horizon AI, the tech startup founded by Nicolás Scopesi (CEO), Nicolás López (CPO), and Miguel Langone (CTO), with roots in Uruguay and operational base in San Francisco, has closed a seed round of $3.5 million. The investment was led by the NXTP fund, along with notable investors such as Jeff Lawson, EWA Capital, Tom Hedrick, Matías Woloski, and Ruben Sosenke. Horizon’s platform is aimed at banking, financial services, and insurance organizations, and is distinguished by its artificial intelligence system capable of interacting with employees at scale. Its technology integrates discovery, analysis, and planning in a single environment, turning collective knowledge into a “digital brain” that evolves in real-time. This allows teams to identify inefficiencies, prioritize high-impact projects, and execute tasks that previously took up to 18 months in just minutes. According to Scopesi, Horizon emerges at a time of profound transformation for companies: “We are facing a paradigm shift. Many organizations will need to rethink not only what they do but how they do it. Horizon was born to transform that ‘how’, building with purpose and constantly adapting. This round demonstrates that the future is already underway and that Latin America has a key role in it.” The company views this achievement as a fundamental step to establish itself as a central infrastructure in ongoing business transformation. Horizon is part of the innovation ecosystem of Cubo Itaú Uruguay, which has been essential for validating its solution in regulated financial environments. In 2025, the company multiplied its revenue sixfold compared to the previous year, collaborating with firms such as Mercado Libre, Itaú, PwC, SURA, and PedidosYa. Its AI models have conducted over 12,000 employee interviews across various markets, identifying more than 5,000 improvement opportunities, many with returns exceeding $100,000 per initiative. Horizon holds SOC 2 certification and has launched over 45 key features in the past year. The funds raised will allow it to expand its business presence, strengthen technical integrations, and broaden the platform's reach to new organizational processes. Horizon’s solution is designed for continuous improvement teams, operational excellence, and digital transformation, facilitating data-driven decision-making based on real and updated information about the internal functioning of organizations.
