Destinus Group BV has announced the acquisition of Daedalean AG, the renowned Swiss company specializing in advanced artificial intelligence systems for aviation, in a deal valued at 180 million Swiss francs (approximately 225 million dollars). Following the purchase, Daedalean will be integrated as a key center for AI engineering, autonomy research, and advanced perception technologies within Destinus. The Daedalean team will continue to drive the development of AI solutions for civil aviation, covering critical autonomy for safety and pilot assistance, as well as next-generation navigation and perception systems. The integration with Destinus will accelerate the application of these technologies in defense, including navigation in GNSS-denied environments, advanced perception for interceptors and missiles, mission planning, and autonomous decision-making on high-speed platforms. Additionally, capabilities such as swarm coordination of unmanned systems and sensor fusion with embedded AI for resilient operations on the battlefield will be enhanced. This acquisition strengthens Destinus's ability to offer sovereign European AI solutions in its portfolio of autonomous systems, consolidating its vertically integrated and industrial-scale production model, supporting both national defense and the modernization of civil aviation. Bas Gouverneur, former CEO of Daedalean, will take on the role of Chief Military Program Officer, leading military programs and the integration of Daedalean's AI technology into Destinus's defense platforms. Yvonne Gross, previously VP of Finance and Operations at Daedalean, will be the new Chief Operations and Infrastructure Officer, responsible for industrial expansion and operational coordination in Europe. Brontë Hamilton joins as Chief Financial Officer, managing financial strategy and capital structuring during this phase of accelerated growth. Mikhail Kokorich, founder and CEO of Destinus, emphasized that this acquisition represents a milestone for the company and for Europe's ability to develop high-performance autonomous systems in both defense and civil aviation. He highlighted Daedalean's expertise in safety-critical AI and the opportunity to accelerate the deployment of next-generation autonomous systems. Founded in 2016, Daedalean is a pioneer in AI systems for guidance, navigation, and situational awareness in aviation, with certified technologies that raise standards of reliability and performance. Meanwhile, Destinus develops and manufactures AI-enabled autonomous systems for defense, with advanced production facilities in Europe, contributing to the continent's technological sovereignty and resilience.
