The Artificial Intelligence Summit 2026 has brought together leaders and specialists from the public and private sectors to analyze real applications of artificial intelligence, its influence in strategic areas such as health, and the challenges involved in its implementation.
During the first day of the event, organized by Ametic, concrete examples of AI use in various sectors were presented, highlighting its direct effect on the economy and society.
The closing remarks were made by Juan Alfonso Ruiz Molina, Councilor of Finance, Public Administrations, and Digital Transformation of Castilla-La Mancha, who pointed out one of the main obstacles to the advancement of AI: “Artificial intelligence requires data centers, and we face an electrification problem.” He emphasized that, despite Castilla-La Mancha being one of the regions that produces the most renewable energy, the electrification capacity remains insufficient, which could limit future investments if not resolved.
Ruiz Molina stressed that artificial intelligence has moved from being a promise to becoming an essential tool: “We are no longer talking about a revolution, but about a fundamental reality.” He believes that its adoption is key to optimizing public services and strengthening business competitiveness.
From the administration's perspective, he emphasized that AI should be seen as a tool to modernize the relationship with citizens, advocating for a more proactive and anticipatory public management. He also valued legislative advances in the region, such as the law on administrative simplification and digitalization, which aims to reduce bureaucracy and provide legal certainty in the use of AI, along with the creation of a digital transformation agency to coordinate the technological strategy.
In the technical field, he highlighted the application of techniques such as process mining to identify inefficiencies and automate administrative tasks, as well as the role of AI in cybersecurity, allowing for the anticipation and neutralization of threats.
Finally, he warned about the pending challenges, especially regarding labor impact and data protection in critical sectors such as health and defense.
