ChatGPT Pulse is OpenAI's new feature that transforms ChatGPT into a truly proactive personal assistant, capable of anticipating your daily needs. This innovation marks a significant change in user experience, as the AI not only answers your questions but now takes the initiative to help you organize your day.
The operation of ChatGPT Pulse is simple yet powerful: overnight, it analyzes your previous conversations and the information stored in its memory, generating personalized updates that await you each morning. Additionally, it integrates with Google Calendar and Gmail, allowing it to extract relevant data and provide you with reminders, itineraries, or recommendations without you having to ask. For example, if you have a trip planned, Pulse can prepare a personalized guide about your destination or suggest the best way to get to the airport.
Pulse updates are presented in the form of cards within the ChatGPT mobile app, visible only during the day unless you choose to interact with them or open them as a chat. These interactions are added to your history, allowing the information to remain available and adapt to your needs.
One of the standout features of Pulse is its high degree of personalization. You can manually indicate what type of information is relevant to you or respond to quick surveys that the assistant proposes. Additionally, you can rate the cards with a thumbs up or down, helping the AI further refine its suggestions for each day.
Currently, ChatGPT Pulse is available in a preliminary phase and exclusively for ChatGPT Pro subscribers, the $200 monthly premium plan. OpenAI has explained that this decision is due to the high demand for technical resources that the feature requires, although it plans to expand its availability in the future.
At present, Pulse is limited to integrations with Gmail and Google Calendar, but OpenAI is already working to expand its compatibility with other applications and services, which will allow for even more automation of everyday tasks. Although the feature is still in development and may have bugs, it represents an important step towards increasingly intelligent and personalized virtual assistants.
