Adobe has enhanced the Generative Fill tool in Photoshop Beta with the integration of new generative AI models. Alongside the well-known Firefly, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image has been added, noted for its speed and detail coherence, and FLUX.1 Kontext [pro], aimed at stylized and high-impact visual interpretations. Each model addresses different creative needs: from meticulous realism to experimentation with expressive or abstract styles. These AI engines are fully integrated into the traditional Photoshop workflow. Now, users can choose the most suitable model for each intervention, adapting the result to the image's objective. AI is incorporated into masks, selections, layers, and adjustments, functioning as a native tool. Thus, the line between what is generated and what is edited blurs, always keeping creative control in the user's hands. At the same time, Adobe has launched Firefly Boards globally, a platform designed for collaborative creative ideation. Here, the focus is on co-creation, concept exploration, and resource generation across multiple media. Firefly Boards integrates video generation models like Runway Aleph and Moonvalley Marey, along with new features like Presets for quick scenarios, Describe Image for automatic descriptions, and Generative Text Edit for contextual rewriting. It is the evolution of the moodboard, now enhanced by real-time AI. The synergy between Photoshop and Firefly Boards is key to Adobe's strategy. Both environments complement each other: Boards as a space for ideation and testing, and Photoshop as an advanced execution tool. The ability to exchange elements, styles, and palettes between both facilitates a continuous workflow, where the transition between planning and editing is smoother than ever. However, not all features are available to all users. Many characteristics remain in beta and require an active Creative Cloud subscription, especially to access the more advanced models or generate high-resolution content. Additionally, there are limitations due to monthly credits and specific usage conditions. The integration of AI, while powerful, raises challenges regarding creative control and technological dependence in generating original ideas. In short, Photoshop has ceased to be just an image editor and has become the operational center of a comprehensive creative environment, where AI, collaboration, and multimodal content generation converge. More than just adding features, Adobe is redefining the role of software in the creative process.
